FINANCING THE MDC WEBSITE
How you can help
The development and initial hosting costs of the MDC Website were, with agreement of Jennifer and Alec, met by an allocation from within the CMMF funds. These costs amounted to just under £300 and cover the website expenditure until May 2018.
Given that its main work in funding Performing Arts Activities had been completed by May 2017, the CMMF was then formally closed with its outstanding responsibilities for the website and residual funding transferred into a new ‘non performing’ version of the ‘Markhouse Drama Club’ – some 40 years after the last curtain came down on the original one!
The ongoing website costs from May 2018 will be around £25 a month and it is hoped that this expenditure can be raised through former MDC members – perhaps helping to meet the costs of a couple of weeks, or even a month, to enable the website to continue to be accessed by themselves, their children and grandchildren.
Whilst some donations were received at the time of the Website’s launch in November 2017, a more formal ‘Appeal’ was initiated at the October 2017 Re-Union where both cash amounts and Annual Standing Orders were made and thereby gave really good start to our future fund raising.
If you want to help the donations can be made in a number of ways including through the Website’s PayPal payment link which John Oatham has made available for this purpose
However, whilst this is a very easy and direct way of supporting the Appeal, you may also wish to note that if you use this link, then Paypal will deduct a 3.4% plus 20p per transaction charge
Alternatively, charge free donations can now be made to the newly establsihed ‘Markhouse Drama Club’ Bank Account; either by cheque or online by direct transfer. Similarly, Standing Orders – perhaps just for a small annual amount – can also be set up at your own bank.
If you wish to use either of these options, please confirm this via the Website Contact Page so that you can be contacted with the address for cheques, or the MDC Account numbers for a bank transfer or to set up a Standing Order. If you subsequently decide to help in either of these ways then please ensure that you add a reference to any payment so that this can be appropriately recorded and acknowledged
All donations made through PayPal will be acknowledged and sent on by John, via Bank Transfer, to the website budget within the MDC Bank Account.
