Programme Notes

“February is hardly the time one would expect to go and see a Pantomime – but then, afterr all, this is the Markhouse Drama Club!

Since our last production many things have happened and all I can say is that we are lucky to put on a Panto at all! Having dealt with that, our latest production marks twenty one years of our club and something like sixty plays and panto’s have been performed on this stage under the watchful eye of Cyril Malyon. Twenty one years ago, when he was a young teacher, he was asked to start a basket weaving class! As he wasn’t too keen on that idea he thought drama would be easier – perhaps the former would have been easier after all?

This, our latest offering, has many of the familiar faces that you have seen on occasions in the past, it also offers you a chance to see some of the new blood coming in whom you will see more of in years to come. Well, I think you have read enough, so may I suggest that you sit back and, I hope, enjoy yourselves”
