An ‘In House’ Project
In addition to all of the above performing arts projects with young people, in 2017 the CMMF provided the initial funding to set up a dedicated ‘Markhouse Drama Club’ website; this to replace the memorabilia in Richard Dunn’s former ’Walthamstowhistory.com’ website.
The website includes a large and varied amount of memorabilia that has been found through the increasing number of former members that have come into contact with the CMMF since its inception and enabled quite an extension timeline of productions to be compiled – but still with some gaps to fill and detail to be unearthed!
In addition to the record of the CMMF performing arts projects that have been funded and the MDC production memorabilia of photo galleries, programme notes, script covers and Walthamstow Guardian Reports, the website also contains an increasing amount of items about Markhouse Road Secondary School and its staff, extracts from L.A. Smith’s account of his headship, the formation of Markovian Films and Cathode Elysium Lights and, perhaps most nostalgically, the recent Re-Unions and by-gone memories of former MDC members!
The MDC website, now funded by former members, can be found at ‘markhousedramaclub.com’
